The Pyranha crew was invited to the new US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC for a day of checking out the new whitewater park, demoing some boats, and doing a little bit of racing. The course has three channels- a beginner channel, a freestyle channel, and a competition channel for racing, and a conveyor belt to get back to the top. While “concrete kayaking” has been going on in Europe, it’s something relatively new in the US, and the smooth channel and fast water and the idea of just riding the conveyor back to the top took a bit of getting used to. We all agreed that the course is awesome, and will only get better with some tweaking. Here are some pictures:
