Here in the Adirondacks (Waaay up in northern New York) we have seasons. The boats get put away sometime around Thanksgiving, we go skiing for a few months,  and by the end of March they start to make their way back on to ice cold rivers.  Right now we are finishing one season, and heading full speed ahead into another.Â

Every year I get really excited to get back in my boat. This year paddling started a little ahead of schedule. For day 1 of 2011 My buddy and I met up with some other Catskill area locals for a cool run called Kaaterskill Creek. It’s got a few scary waterfalls, but mostly just a cool creek with some cool little canyons.Â

Strke 3 wave on the Housatonic was part 2 of day one. It was freezing, I was real rusty not having been in the Molan for many months, but it was super fun.Â
